| A game of Pétanque "Bon alors, tu tires ou tu pointes ?" - "Well, you drive or you draw ?" This dear Pétanque (must say with a southern singing accent) is originated in La Ciotat, in Provence in 1907. The names comes from petanca in the Provençal dialect of the Occitan language, deriving from the expression "pès tancats" meaning "feet together" or more exactly "feet anchored". For the players, this "difficult' sport is very serious and it's funny to listen them, sometimes arguing for knowing who is the closer of the "cochonnet". But always with smiles, laughs and of course a good "pastis" (the southern aperitif) after the game. |
